Promoting the Philippines to the World through Tourism

I like what the new Department of Tourism acting secretary said when he was interviewed during the State of the Nation telecast by Jessica Soho over at the local channel 27.  Soho requested the new acting Tourism Secretary Ramon Jimenez of DOT to address the Filipinos, I failed to catch the whole message but these lines stands out for me…

“Believe in the beauty of our country.

Promote the Philippines, talk about the country with pride

in Facebook, in Twitter, in Multiply..

…Know that we deserve a visit from the world”

Pardon me if some of the words were omitted or added but that is the gist of what he said and it struck a cord in me, hence this post. I am passionate about promoting tourism and traveling in our country. And I am not going to stop promoting travels in the Philippines because maybe one or two maybe influence by what they see or read in this blog and take to the road to discover more of the country.

I hope more and more Filipinos will appreciate the wonders that the country offers, and to speak about it with pride so the world will know how beautiful the Philippines truly is.

Anyhow, I’m hoping that the new secretary will succeed in promoting the Philippines to the world with the help of every Filipinos here in the country and the millions abroad. After all, tourism is said to be the business of the people.

Whether the campaign slogan is “Wow Philippines” or “Pilipinas Kay Ganda” or “Pilipinas Tara Na”  or to something that maybe brewing now in the tourism board room, I sincerely hope that the Philippines tourism campaign will succeed.

And this Philippine travel blog is my contribution to the campaign.  Cheers to Philippine tourism!
