SM MOA EYE – Ferris Wheel and Themepark Attraction in Mall of Asia

Want to visit the newest themepark and ferris wheel attraction in Manila? Then head tomorrow December 16, 2011 to the SM Mall of Asia or SM MOA as this popular mall will open its uber the top attraction to the public. The SM MOA’s Ferris Wheel called the SM MOA EYE  wheel is now the tallest ferris wheel in the country!  There is more and more reasons to visit  the capital city as you can now enjoy not only Star City but the SM MOA Eye and the theme park where it is at.

Located just across the SM IMAX parking lot, this giant ferris wheel towers at 160 feet overlooking the fame Manila Bay. The ferris wheel carriages and coaches are air-conditioned so its perfect to ride up even if the day is hot.  Fee to ride the Philippines’ tallest ferris wheel is at P150 per person, vip gondolas are to be pegged at P200.  And the more awesome news is that the SM Moa Eye is located inside the SM amusement park complex, and entrance to the theme park is free and you only have to pay for the rides that you want to try out. Once fully completed, this theme park will be home to 30 or so different heart pumping rides and spectacular attractions. I hope they will have a carousel there too as carousels are perfect backdrop of pictures hehhe. I will be updating this post with the pics of the SM Moa Eye and the official opening and closing time of the sm amusement park. Watch out for that!

Christmas Display in SM Mall of Asia

This is awesome news this Christmas season for all the chikitings and everyone who wants to visit MOA this December. You have lots of places to go and Christmas festivities to see like the SM Christmas Snow Globe inside the mall, the SM MOA Eye and the themepark, the Santa House where you can have your pics taken and if you are lucky have pics with Santa Claus.

SM MOA Christmas Snow Globe

It is also best to time your visit to the Mall of Asia during Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays this holiday season as they also have spectacular fireworks display at around 7 to 8:30pm as well as the hugely popular Christmas Parade. You can even try out Ice Skating at Moa’s ice skating rink =).

All Manilenos probably know this already but  for those who does not know yet how to go to SM Mall of Asia (sm moa), find yourself under the LRT Taft Station for under it there are jeepneys plying the SM MOA route. Fare is only P8.00.

Head now to moa before the rush of people who all wants to see the SM Moa Eye Ferris Wheel gets there =) SM has taken the perya’s tsubibo to a higher level with this tallest ferris wheel. Cool!

      Hi Kamote!

Thanks for the headsup! The P100 must have been the special price on the launch day. But that’s awful if infants are charged too :/.

We’ll be checking out today the rides and hopefully all the fine prints of the SM Moa Eye rules and details. Will update this post accordingly after. Thanks again for the price info!

Oh, so that’s P150 already? I’ve seen it on TV and they said that you only get to ride for 10mins. Haha! BTW, how much for the Snow Globe? Still busy with my thesis. Hope I can still catch the globe by the time we finish our defense. (>_<)

      Hi imchokulet!

Based on our experience during the past years, MOA have firework displays every Friday, Saturday and Sunday of December around 7pm to 8:30pm. To be sure you can contact SM directly or pay SM Mall of Asia a visit as they usually have posters announcing the schedules of their 2011 Christmas activities including the Christmas fireworks display.

      Hi Meme,

If you are asking about Moa Eye, wala pa silang ganitong special amenities like for dinner date but this maybe on the works na as they have those VIP gondolas. Baka they are going to pattern it after the Singapore flyer dinner package but as of now wala pang balita re this.

      Hi Kim,

      Not necessarily.

There is a preset schedule sa pag-ikot ng Moa Eye and so far hindi siya pinupuno unless siguro there are tons of people lining up to ride the Ferris Wheel, in such cases Management might decide to put different groups in a single gondola to give everybody the chance to ride up.

Honestly, I was quite disappointed with the ride. The 10 minute ride was actually fast. I think P150 is a bit overpriced. But it’s a good ride if you just want to relax or if you’re a tourist. I love your photos!hehe I also took photos on the same spot.

Thanks for sharing your opinion and thoughts on the Moa Eye. I wish it’s going to be a longer ride in the ferris wheel para sulit naman yung bayad.

I’ve checked your blog, and left a comment. Happy blogging this 2012! πŸ™‚
