Easily Redeem and Convert PLDT Crystals to SMAC Points

If you are a PLDT Home subscriber, now is a good time to check if you have near-expiring crystals. How to check? Login to PLDT Home Rewards website. Sign-up if you don’t have a Rewards account just yet. Or login to PLDT Home and in the left side menu, scroll to the bottom, and click “PLDT Home Rewards”.

PLDT Home Rewards is the loyalty program of this telco.

We just received a notification from PLDT that some of our earned crystals will expire at month-end. Sayang naman kung ma-expire lang, kaya dali-dali we redeemed 260 crystals in exchange for SMAC points 100 + 30.

1 SMAC point = P1 which you can use to pay for items in The SM Store and companies under the SM Group like Ace Hardware, SM Savemore, Baby & Company, etc.

The Rewards conversion right now is 260 crystals = SMAC 100 points + bonus of 30 points. Normally, conversion is 260 crystals = 100 smac points.

*You can also convert your crystals in Grab credits and a bunch of other options.

How can you earn PLDT Crystals?

Every time we pay our monthly bill on time and in full, we get 27 crystals.
Then we also get crystals tagged as “PLDT Home Rewards”, 5 crystals.
So in a month, we get 32 crystals.

*The number of crystals awarded will depend on your plan.

  1. Our PLDT Home Fiber subscription is Plan P1,699.
  2. My Aunt whose PLDT Home Fiber subscription is P2,150 monthly, she gets 45 + 5 crystal per month.

What is the process in redeeming crystals for SMAC points?

It’s so easy. Once you have logged-in to the REWARDS website, just click “redeem now”. The “All Rewards” page will load where you can see all the available partners of PLDT for crystals-conversion. Find the SMAC poster and click it. After clicking, the mechanics page will load and at the bottom of it, you can see the button “redeem”, click it.

Click here to zoom the picture guide.

Now go open another browser and login to your SMAC account by entering your username and password. Once you are in, go back to the open tab of PLDT Rewards. Then click “View Coupons”. All redeemed coupons will display on the page. Beside the SMAC redemption, click the “View” button, the mechanics page will load again. All the way to the bottom is your voucher code. Go to number 5 in the mechanics and then click the link therein. The link will go to the SMAC website.

Since you are already login to your SMAC account, all you have to do is to enter the voucher code you got from PLDT Rewards and click “Add”.

The SMAC – PLDT tie-up card will show, click “Claim” then click “Claim” again. A “Thank you” message and confirmation of the transaction will show. You can click “Finish” and you are done! Watch as your SMAC points gets adjusted after a few seconds.

Click here to zoom the picture-guide for smac website.

Convert PLDT crystals into SMAC points

So now, you have additional 130 points loaded onto your SMAC. The next time you are buying something in The SM Store or in any of its sister companies, you can say to the cashier you will use your points to help pay your purchases. If the item you are paying is less than P130, you will get that item without any cash-out. Nice! Tipid!

Don’t let your crystals expire! Go, redeem na!
