Desk Tied Reflections: Ramblings and Random Things

There are tons of places in the Philippines that beg to be visited but how can we visit all in our lifetime? Sure we can visit the major tourist centers in the country like Baguio, Tagaytay, Cebu, Davao, Bohol, Ilo-ilo, Boracay, Camiguin, Batanes and ticked them off our must-visit-list but within those places and provinces are hidden gems that we may not even know about unless we decide to spend a considerable amount of time exploring the nooks and crannies.

Majority of us will also visit a popular destination in the Philippines only once.  Not because that’s our choice but because we don’t have enough funds to make return trips to all favorite places we have visited and those that we have yet to travel to. If we have the funds, then there will be other complications like time not being on our side because the reality for most of us is we have work to go back to.  Taking a break was just that – taking a short break. But breaks are good and breaks are fun!!!

The Scenario – I’ve just log off from a toxic and tiring day at work, last Saturday and Sunday, I was also at work.  This is actually where this post is coming from in case you are curious hehe. It’s not that bad actually, I just want to indulge myself a little dose of drama right now haha.

Anyhow, I shouldn’t talk of work as something bad because it is not; in fact it is a big blessing to us who are earning from jobs or businesses. You only need to look around you and know this for a fact.  Righty right? 🙂

Have you ever considered going for a location independent lifestyle?

Maybe after reading tons of blogs about going off the grid and following your passion and actually making it has inspired you so much that it also got you thinking following the path to greater freedom and more adventure. I say go for it and follow your heart. You only need to believe in it and work on it to make it a reality. See? There is work to do even if you follow your passion.

Friends get drunk a little while it’s coffee for me!

location independent - work while you party

*I am actually lucky to be able to do this.

Slumbook Lessons

The motto I wrote on my slumbook back in Grade 6 was this “If there’s a will, there’s a way. If there’s no way, make your own way”. I know it’s not original, I must have read it somewhere and think it’s so cool and I will appear ‘kick-ass’ amongst my classmates so it got written down as my motto whenever someone ask me to sign their own slumbooks. Nyahaha.

Do you remember yours? What is it? Care to share? Hehe

Ah yah I sometimes alternate my motto with “Strike while the iron is hot” Boom! Hahaha.

Ahhh we grow up. 🙂

But actually I do believe in the essence of that motto. Yes, essence talaga hehe. I try to always follow its dictates and luckily, often than not it brings me to the place I want to be in for that given time, not entirely by my own doing but because I have faith that everything will turn up right no matter the circumstances.

I am not sure if I am taking sense, as the title of this post says, this is but random ramblings of a scattered mind who happens to have a travel blog. Lol. I am actually trying to make a travel connection so this post can pretend its travel and vacation related hehe.

Back to location independent, lucky are those who have this lifestyle for they can take their work anywhere they choose. Right now I am in a sort of middle ground. My work is online and I can take it with me wherever I want to go, provided of course I can find a reliable net connection in my destination. But I have responsibilities at home and I guess the time is not yet ripe for me to take-off and discover more places.

That’s also the reason why I only take one, two, or if I’m lucky three out of town trips in a year. Maybe in a couple of years I’d be able to go on more trips but I can’t even be sure about that heheh but at least I can hope. Hope as you know is a wonderful thing to hold on to. It allows you to continue dreaming. And dreams are the blueprints of reality.

Take me to the mountain and the sea!

What’s the point of this post? Nothing really.

Let me rephrase that, I guess the point is I am thanking my lucky stars that I have Penfires that can turn into a great sounding board. This is a personal blog  after all and what are blogs if you can’t share your random ramblings and musings?

Heyyyyyy,  are you still reading up to this point?  Wow! Salamat! Doing my happy dance 🙂

Seriously, Thank You for taking time to read posts here in Penfires. You bless me by reading.

So where are you going this summer 2013? =)

Or better yet, what is/was your motto? ^_^

anyway, cille, you can actually go to different places and bring your work with you. yeah, you have responsibilities at home but it doesn’t mean that you also need to be there physically. are you forgetting where you have been after graduation? go do it! seize that opportunity! anyway, laag niya ta! 🙂
