The holiday season is so near and I think if you’ve got kids and you are from Manila or nearby areas, then going to the Star City in Pasay is a wonderful treat and gift for the chikitings! They will love you more if you bring them to this fun place! Even barkadas of all ages will love the rides, the arcade games and the special attractions of this famous Philippine theme park. You can even make this a Christmas tradition for your family and friends!
REACHING STAR CITY
Situated at the heart of Pasay City in Metro Manila, Star City in the Philippines is very accessible. And you can do it by public transport no matter if you are coming from Makati, SM MOA, Paranaque, Cavite, Binondo or anywhere else. Just find your way to the Cultural Center of the Philippines or the CCP Complex and Star City is just a few walks away.
However, Buendia is a good starting point as you can hop onto a bus and get off in World Trade Center and just walk a bit and you’ll reach Star City.
STAR CITY OPENING AND CLOSING TIME
Star City opens at 1pm and closes at 12 midnight, plenty of time to check out all their rides and try out all the activities. Visiting this adventure theme park is a good way to spend time and bond with family and friends! Hope you can try it. If you are from VisMin or North / South Luzon, maybe one day you will find yourself in Manila and can pay this theme park a visit =)
Per my previous visits, visitors to Star City comes in busloads, lots of students on a travel tour, that if you are coming in your vehicle, it might be a bit difficult to find a parking spot even though they have designated parking places at the back of the complex.
It feels like everyone converges on Star City especially during long weekends, holidays. The Christmas season is notorious for these ultra mega long lines but what the heck, December is the best time to visit Star City hehehe.
Theme Park in Pasay Star City!
STAR CITY ENTRANC FEES AND RATES
Entrance Fees. Ah yah fees, I wish we can skip that and can enjoy the thrilling rides without paying anything but sadly we can’t, so here are the different ride packages rates and fees of Star City:
If the rides or the special attractions does not appeal to you and you are just there for the kiddos, you only need to pay the Star City entrance fee of P60.
Now, if you want to sample some of the rides you can go for the Star City 3 Rides package. You will pay a total of P250 and you can enter the theme park and go for 3 rides of your own selection. Pick the Zyklon Loop as one of your three rides para sulit!
If 3 rides will not satisfy the Peter Pan in you, then go all out and avail of the Star City Ride All You Can package at P350.00 per person.
Star City also has these special attractions that unfortunately you need to pay separately, like the very popular Snow World or Winter FunLand and the kids favorite Dino Land and Lazer Blaster, usually you will pay an extra P100 to P150 for each of these special attractions.
If you know at the onset that you will want to check out the different special attractions then while at the ticket counter, avail of the discounted ride all you can with special attractions rate, you’ll be saving a few pesos this way as opposed to paying for the all-you-can-ride and then later on go back to the counter and pay for the special attractions.
Since I am not connected with Star City I am not aware of rate changes so please CALL STAR CITY FOR THE LATEST RATES before you come and visit the theme park at (02) 899-3496**
The ride and entrance fees are expensive that’s why you must start to save now when it is still months away to Christmas unless, well you come with the proverbial silver spoon and have no worries about shelling out pesoses.
When Titus and I visited Star City we only availed of the 3 rides and the Snow World, so we paid only (250 + 150) P400. We are poor travelers, sorry Star City.
We, by the way entered the Horror Booth but instead of being scared we found it very funny lol. We also concentrated more on the Disney movie sets like this one on Peter Pan since technically it is not a ride and does not count against our 3 rides quota lol.
Titus and Captain Hook
***
Usually during December there is a slight increase in prices so the normal P350 ride all you can pop tag becomes P410 and so on. It’s best to contact Star City Operation and Marketing group to inquire the latest prices at the telephone number: (02) 899-3496. Sorry I just have to stress that.
About Star City discounts, err I don’t know if they give out student discounts or senior citizen discounts (yes, I did see senior citizens with their apos enjoying and watching the Star City goers). They do give group discounts but the last time I was there I saw that the group discount only applies to group of 500 and more with prior reservation.
If you are part of a huge group, like students on an educational field trip and you have Star City as one of your stops, then lucky you, you’d be getting the discounted rate!
If you are the average person who just want to enjoy Star City Theme Park, wish your lucky stars you won’t be there at the theme park with such group because if you are… mannn you are looking at real long lines. Remember while you wait for your turn to try out a ride, that patience is a virtue
WINTER FUNLAND AND SNOW WORLD
By the way, a must try for Pinoys is Star City’s Snow World. Their Winter Funland is the closest we have to ‘experiencing snow’ in the Philippines. The moment you enter, it’s real cold. Snow World is like a big and giant freezer complete with ice sculptures and Christmas lights. It’s wonderful!
Kids can enter the Snow World as the last time I was there I was with an 8 and a 5 years old kids. I am not sure about the minimum age that is allowed at the Winter Funland, you got to call Star City for that.
You may want to bring your own hand gloves though as you will pay P50 to rent hand gloves. We did not avail of one by the way that’s why the moment we entered, my hand went numb lol.
YEY! It’s Winter in the Tropics!
The entrance fee to Winter FunLand comes with a snow suit. For all practicality it is just a jacket that gives you some comfort. You will still be chilled to the bone hahaha. But it’s an experience you don’t want to miss. Kids can take the cold and makeshift snow and so can you!
A lot of the kids love sliding on the ice slide and having their pictures taken by the ice castle and the various life size ice sculptures.
There are official photographers inside the Winter Fun Land and they can take your pictures. You claim your pics (after paying of course) when you go out of the frozen wonder land and into their winter funland souvenir area.
You can bring your cameras too but be careful not to get them wet.
FOODS
If you get hungry, there is a Food Court inside Star City that houses a cornucopia of food stalls selling the favorite theme park delis like hotdogs on buns, popcorns, burgers, pizza etc. There are also fastfood chain like Chowking and Tropical Hut inside Star City.
By the way bringing of food inside Star City is NOT allowed. And so is unruly behavior. Have fun but don’t be unruly that you will end up disrupting other Star City goers, okies?
DINO LAND and LAZER BUSTER
No we did not checked out the Dino World and Lazer Buster, we feel that it’s really for the kids and not for us who just feels like kids hehe
BAZAAR AND PASALUBONGS
You can pick up souvenir Star City knickknacks at their pasalubong center. Usually during December they also have a bazaar.
PHOTOBOOTHS
If you like pictures, I supposed you do heheh, you can have wacky pictures taken at the various photobooths inside Star City. Fee if I am not mistaken is P120.
MOVIE SETS BOOTHS
There are booths dedicated to popular movies like this one on Peter Pan. Kids will love checking out the various cartoon characters like Captain Hook, Wendy, Tinkerbell, Mermaids etc etc.
Aye Matey!
ALIW THEATER
Don’t forget to check out the Aliw Theater as they might have a show when you are there, the best thing about performances in Aliw Theater is that they are always for Free! Yeeba! For those who don’t know it, Aliw Theater is on the Star City Complex; just ask a guard or Star City personnel for the theater’s direction. Their shows are kid friendly and will really captivate the attention of your kids, so please check out the performances.
LOVE RADIO FM
Now if you love sending shoutouts over the airwaves, check out the DZMB 90.7 which is also inside the Star City. You may even see your favorite disc jocks from that radio station if you are lucky.
AFFORDABLE ALTERNATIVE TO ENCHANTED KINGDOM
If you ask me, I would say that Enchanted Kingdom in Laguna is the better theme park but because of its location which is far and out of the way especially those coming from North Luzon and the rest of the country, more people favor Star City.
So price wise Star City ends up as cheaper compared to Laguna’s Enchanted Kingdom (unless you are a from Laguna heheh) because you don’t need to shell out for expensive toll fees or long bus rides.
Another plus point for Star City is that it is also nearer to the airport and the piers. So what am I saying? If you want to spend more time riding the exciting and heart pumping rides rather than the boring buses or cars, then choose Star City!
Visiting Star City has become a Christmas family tradition for many Filipino families too, so there =)
WE SHALL RETURN!
We will be back at this very popular Pasay theme park hopefully soon. I will be updating this post for the latest Star City fees and rates then.
Please watch out for the updated Star City rates. Byers for now!
BUT if you just came from there, please leave a comment with the latest rates so you can also help those who are planning to go to Star City. Thanks much!

Hi! Your post says that it’s easy to get to Star City using public transportation from Makati. Can you tell me how to do that?
Thanks! Erica
Cille Anne says
Hi Erica, you can ride a bus from the Makati Business District/Ayala Avenue bound for Buendia/LRT then go down in front of the World Trade Center in Pasay City, from there you can just walk to reach Star City which is just a block away.
