Skincare Essentials to Bring On Your Travels

Skin care during travelling

Traveling is fun, but it’s no surprise that moving from one place to another puts your body under a lot of stress. It can be tempting to rough it out and keep it simple when you’re traveling, but there’s also something to be said for making sure you feel fresh during your travels.

If you’re someone who packs light, it’s good to know that you only need a few key essentials in your travel kit. Here’s what you need to pack.

Protective sunscreen

Sunscreen is one of the most important parts of any skincare routine, even when you’re not traveling. Unfortunately, a lot of sunscreens are packed with chemicals that end up ruining coral reefs and polluting the seas. Magwai sunscreen is made of zinc oxide and titanium dioxide, which aren’t harmful to coral reefs; each bottle also offers SPF 50 and UVA and UVB protection. Just remember that you need to re-apply sunscreen every two hours to keep your skin fully protected!

Cleansing soap

You’ll be exposing your skin to a lot of dust and germs while traveling, so it’s important to thoroughly cleanse every morning and night. Pretty Me’s review of the Original Kojic Acid Soap notes that it also protects from fungal infections while cleansing your skin and unclogging pores. Since you’ll be cleansing your face twice a day (even more if you’re planning on an outdoorsy vacation), picking the right soap keeps you refreshed even on the go. Soap bars are also an ecological choice, and travel-savvy packers can cut their soap bars up and place it in smaller containers for their trip.

Hydrating moisturizer

Moisturizing your face after cleansing keeps your skin supple. The right moisturizer depends on where you’ll be going. If you’re going somewhere hot, keep your moisturizer thin and breathable; a winter trip requires thicker lotion that locks moisture in. Physiogel’s Daily Moisture Therapy Cream is easily absorbed into the skin and works for even the most sensitive skin, making it a true daily pick. You can even have a small five or 10 mL bottle to put in your backpack on the go.

Face spray

If you’re looking for real refreshment while you’re in transit, a quick spritz of face spray is all you need to keep going. Opt for sprays with refreshing ingredients like lemon extract or cucumber; this one from Skinpotions includes spearmint and ginger for a truly refreshing experience. If you have access to a refrigerator, quickly chilling your face spray makes for an even more refreshing experience. Don’t forget to bring your spray in a bottle that’s smaller than 100 mL — you wouldn’t want it to be confiscated at the airport!

These essentials are must-haves even if you’re planning a day trip around the Philippines. Storing your skincare in a secured bag compartment ensures that it won’t spill when you’re moving around, but most importantly helps make sure that a cleansed and refreshed face is a quick reach away.
