Pay BPI Credit Card Use ShopeePay and Get Coins Cashback “Free Money”

Paying for BPI credit card bill is made even easier by making it possible to pay the amount due using the Shopee app and Shopeepay. I am becoming a fan!

I am a regular Shopee buyer so when I found out that I can pay BPI credit card and at the same time get coins cashback through use of vouchers, I immediately made use of this payment facility. The coins cashback is like “free money” which can be used to pay the next purchase in this online marketplace or pay a new bill. Tipid hack it is. Definitely, a win for me.

How To Pay and Get Coin Cashback

Login to Shopee on the mobile app. Then click “Loads and Bills”. Scroll down then click “Credit Cards”. You will see “Bank of the Philippine Islands” and “RCBC Bankard” available. Click the BPI option. Then before making any payments, click “Claim your vouchers here”.

Next, input credit card no, account name, and amount to pay.

Then select the voucher that you will use to get coins cashback before you hit continue.

Usually there are 2 or 3 vouchers available each time. The first voucher is the 100% coins cashback capped at certain number of coins. Unfortunately, this Shopee voucher is only for first time user of Shopee’s Load and Bills. If you have made transactions before, you can’t use this.

The second voucher is called “Digital Purchase” which usually offer either a 10%, 15%, or 20% coins cashback depending on the promo. There is a minimum payment amount and a maximum number of coins that a customer can get.

Shopee voucher can be used to pay bills from PLDT, Smart, Sun postpaid, Globe, Meralco, and Maynilad and yes, credit card bills too.

There is a third voucher, I am just not sure if this will always be available every month but am hoping, the “Credit Card Bills” voucher. The discount / coins cashback varies, right now Shopee is offering 15% coins cashback minimum spend of P400, capped at 60 coins.

My Actual Experience Paying BPI Credit Card Using Shopee

Amount due on my BPI Amore Visa credit card is P3,684.15, due this coming September 2021. To avail the vouchers and promo cashback, I only paid up the indicated minimum amount.

For the Digital Purchase Voucher, the offer was ‘pay minimum of P400 and get 80 coins’.

• August 13, 2021 – I paid P484.15, para di ko na isipin yung butal sa kailangan kong bayaran hehe. The 80 coins was credited after 2 days when the payment was tagged as “Completed”. This payment was posted on BPI side August 17, so after 3 banking days.

For the Credit Card Bill voucher, the offer was ‘pay minimum of P400 and get 60 coins’.

• August 14, 2021 – I paid P400, the 60 coins was credited on my Shopee wallet after 2 days. This was also posted on BPI’s side after 2 banking days, August 17, same day with the first payment.

After a few days, Shopee again offered a new voucher named “Bills Payment”. This promo is for “15% cashback, minimum spend P400, capped at 60 coins”.

So of course, I availed the offer. Makakatipid eh, babayaran at babayaran lang din ang credit card bills, dito ka na sa may makukuha kang ‘discount’ in the form of coins cashback.

• August 17, 2021 – I paid P450 and used the ‘Bills Payment’ voucher. I got 60 coins. Nice!

80 + 60 + 60 = 200 coins which means free P200 that I can use to shop in Shopee or use to pay the next bill. Tipid!

Take note that payments must be done using Shopeepay and that vouchers are One time use only on a first come, first serve basis, until vouchers last. So, maximize the deal and be fast in availing the promo.

If you have used-up a voucher, you will need to wait for a new promo or wait the following month when Shopee will replenish its voucher offerings, usually during pay days.

When Is the Posting of Payment in BPI

If I used my BPI Expressonline and my savings account with this bank to pay my BPI credit card bill, the crediting or posting of payment is after 2 banking days. Now, in Shopee the first payment got posted after 3 banking days, the second payment after 2 banking days.

I recommend for discount voucher hunters to assumed that the BPI CC payment made through Shopee will be credited after 5 banking days, even if actual posting of payment is after 2 or 3 working days. This is to ensure that your payments will make it before due date. You’ll never know when there are digital glitches so giving a few days leeway for payment to go through is a good practice.

Weekends and holidays are not included in the counting of days.

I paid the rest of the credit card balance using BPI expressonline. If you always pay your BPI cc bill in full every month, know that you can request the bank to waive the annual fee.

This is my September 15, 2021 payment to bpi. I saved by redeeming previous coins cashback plus I get a new coins cashback for making this payment in Shopee. Yeyyy!

Pro tip: Divide the bill so you enjoy more ‘free money’.  My aim is usually to just meet the minimum amount set by shopee, plus I use two shopee accounts, mine and Titus’. More shopeepay accounts, more vouchers. 😁
