Pay BPI Credit Card Use GCash

There are various ways to pay a BPI credit card, the following are what I have already tried successfully:

  1. Go to branch and pay over the counter. You will be using your customer number, not your account number, to make the payment.

Cons: The queue in the bank can be long so consider the waiting time.

  1. Enroll the BPI credit card to BPI Expressonline Bills Payment facility then do online payment – debiting the savings or checking account and crediting BPI cc.

Cons: It takes additional steps to enroll a credit card to Expressonline. Once enrolled, paying “BECC” is a breeze as long of course that there are funds in the source savings/checking account.

Guide on How to Enroll BPI credit card to Expressonline.

  1. Paying BPI credit card via Gcash. So far this is the payment method that I have been frequently using for close to a year now.

How To Use Gcash To Pay BPI Credit Card

First, have a verified Gcash account. For those who still don’t have one, download the Gcash app and use my special registration code so you will get freebies upon first successful transaction and I will get a freebie too.  Here is the link to download with the Gcash Code.

Second, there must be fund in the GCash enough to pay whatever amount needed. One can cash-in via online banking or accredited partner centers like 7 Eleven.

*By the way, before I thought I can use my BDO online banking to pay BPI credit card. Di pala puede, magkalaban eh heheh.

Third, once the first and second steps are in placed, you can now start the paying process. In the Gcash app go to “Pay Bills” then click “Credit Cards” then scroll down to find “BPI Credit Card”, click it.

Fourth, key-in the the details.

Account number or customer number. I prefer using my credit card number on this, the 16-digits numbers on the front of the BPI CC.

Account name. Put in the full name of the BPI credit card holder.

Amount. Put in the amount to pay.

Email. This is optional but I suggest to fill this up to have a copy of the transaction in your email.

then click “Next”

Fifth, recheck all the details. Click “Confirm” if all things are in order.

Sixth, you will get a confirmation message along with the receipt number. Screenshot it for the file.

You are done! Yeyyy!

Posting of Payment Gcash to BPI

So, how long will the payment made via Gcash be credited to your BPI credit card account? Based on my experience it is usually after 2 to 3 banking days. Weekends and holidays are not counted.

Here is an actual payment made to BPI credit card using Gcash

As of writing, there is no convenience pay for using Gcash to pay BPI credit card.

Paid via Gcash December 1, 2020 – Amount is P1,000 going to my BPI Amore Visa credit card.

Payment is posted December 2, 2020 – The payment is reflected on my account after just 1 banking day. I checked my BPI online banking app to confirm the payment.

Easy breezy!

I have a charged for P2,150 last December 1. I paid the P1,000 via Gcash and I paid the P1,150 via Paymaya. I did this because I want to test how fast Paymaya posting of payments will be vis a vis Gcash.

Gcash posted the payment after one banking day.

Unfortunately, as of today, December 4, the P1,150 payment made via Paymaya has not been posted yet. Hopefully it will be posted soon or I’ll be forced to contact BPI and Paymaya support to inquire about the non-posting of payment. I’ll blog about this experience in the future.

New post: Paying BPI credit card bill using Paymaya.

Is it safe to make payments online and not over the counter? In general yes, but sometimes there are hiccups along the way.

But the thing is this ‘new’ technology today will become the norm in the future, so why not start getting into it and/or using the available technology now?

I am a heavy user of both GCash and Paymaya. They make life convenient. No need to go out of the house to pay my credit card bills and other utility bills. Awesome!
