There is little information available online about budget travel tips on where to go in Cebu for cheap and more affordable Mactan beaches and resort options. Sure Shangrila Mactan, Hilton Resort Mactan, Plantation Bay, Maribago Bluewaters Beach Club, Portofino, Cebu Tambuli Beach Club, Cebu White Sands, Imperial Palace Mactan etc are almost always mentioned in travel blogs, local and some international travel magazines, travel guides and trip advisors for their awesome white sand beaches and great resorts but c’mon most local travelers are on a budget travel. And those Philippine Cebu beach resorts mentioned earlier are on the high-end side and almost always out of reach for the money conscious Cebu bound backpackers and visitors.
So on our way home tonight from another foodtrip laag (story on a separate post ^_^), My good friend Doi posed this question to me “Cille di ba we are planning to have some sort of province-wide road trip that will chronicle what Cebu can offer to tourists and locals from the north to the south, from the east to the west (yep, ganyan kami ka ambiyosa hehehehe) and share them on a series of Cebu travel blog posts, why not we start with Mactan Island (my hometown) and feature first all the available cheap Mactan beach resorts and later on the more expensive resorts (if we can afford them ) and offer honest Cebu beach resorts reviews”.
So that’s our plan, crossing our fingers and hoping we can do it the soonest so all those who are seeking information and tips on cheap beaches and affordable resorts in Mactan Island, Cebu will have another blog to read ^_^
If you are from Cebu or Mactan, please give us your idea on the affordable and cheap beach resorts in Mactan that we should include by leaving a comment below.
And if you are interested, please visit this blog again for updates on this project. Thanks!

Hello Cille! As far as I know, hadsan beach resort is one of the best beaches in mactan. It is budget-friendly which is a good news especially to those people who love going to the beach. By the way, “Doi” sounds familiar. 🙂

Hi! You are so right about that and actually Hadsan is one of the first beaches we are planning to visit ^_^ its a favorite Mactan beach destination especially during highschool and college days 🙂 and i wouldn’t be surprised if you know doi coz she is known in the cebu blogger circle 🙂

Hello! bloggers ask ko lang if how to commute frm the airport to the city w/out utilizing the notorious taxi cabs as i heard fr. local tourist coming in-out of Cebu early arrival so nobody at that time to fetch us last time i was in cebu was 10yrs ago and there was a shuttle ride fr. the airport to the city thanks…
penfires says
Hi there! you can find information on how to commute from Mactan airport to Cebu City in these links — https://penfires.com/mactan-airport-cebu-to-destination-via-jeepneys/ and https://penfires.com/tips-in-navigating-cebu-jeepneys/ . It’s very doable. Two Cebu bound first time travelers from Indonesia made used of the info on those posts and made it from airport to Marriott all by jeepneys, and then from Marriott to Mactan Shrine and Moven Pick back to Marriot all by public transportation, so it should be easy especially if you are a Filipino 🙂
And also, please read the comment thread on those links above as you may find answers to your questions already there. Hope you’ll enjoy your Cebu trip!
