Prior to going I know nothing of Baler except for two things; first, it’s a major destination for surfing in the country; second, the siege of their church by Katipuneros at the turn of the century.
My vacation planning was limited to finding a reasonable accommodation for our group, the rest was left to Julie as she had been to Baler before.
Imagine my surprise then when we first got on the tricycle at the Joy Bus terminal and a laminated tourist spots card was staring at me as I took my seat. There is a card with the list of popular destinations that visitors can visit, this town means business when it comes to tourism, and it’s a good thing in my books.
When we got to Secret Spot in Sabang Beach, the eyes were immediately drawn on the imposing mountain range that is the Sierra Madre. The mountains curves and gentle peaks go on and on, that and the still calm waves on shore gave this comforting feeling that we have made the right decision to go to Baler instead of somewhere with a colder weather for our trip this summer.
These here are just some of the pictures taken during our 4D / 3N Baler trip. Yep, not even 5% of all pics taken haha. I’ll be blogging more about my favorite activities and destinations in Aurora’s capital town separately. For now, let me just say that Baler surprises, in a wonderful way.
Enjoy! Come visit Baler!
