Lulled to early sleep by the pitter-patter of rain drops on the roof, I was expecting the rain would have stop by the time I wake up, but nope, not a chance.
For the past few days it’s been raining non-stop here in Cebu, and based on the latest weather updates this gloomy, wet weather will likely continue on for the next week or so.
So Cebu is bracing for a wet Sinulog 2014 celebration but rain or no rain, nothing will prevent the Sto Nino devotees from attending the novena, Traslacion and the Fluvial parade. Rain won’t also stop the participants and spectators from enjoying the Grand Sinulog Parade this coming January 19,2014.
Are you coming for the Grandest Festival in the country? If you are do consider bringing umbrella or rain coats, alrighty?
The ‘Rain Song’
This weather reminds me of a childhood favorite ‘rain song’ which come to think of it, may have been forgotten by the kids of today. We used to sing this song the moment raindrops start to fall but haven’t heard this song sang by the little kids in our neighborhood even though it’s been raining off and on lately. :/
Rain! Rain!
Go away!
Come again another day,
Little children wants to play.
(of course we just have to insert Cebuano words to this song hehe)
Uwan uwan pahawa
Balik lang ugma!
🙂
Then the following day if it rains again, little misses and misters will again sing this song to plead the mighty rain to go away, lol kids.
Growing up did you also sing this song whenever it rains?
**********
Have a great Sunday! Let’s hope and pray for a good weather!
p.s. to all Cebuanos and visitors coming here for Sinulog 2014, maybe if we all sing the ‘rain song’ out loud or silently starting today until next Sunday , maybe, just maybe, the rain will go away for Sinulog. Hehe 😉
If not, well, Rain is A Blessing. =)
Viva Pit Senyor! Viva Senor Sto Nino!
