Sobrang init karon, gahapon, sa usang adlaw og murag mas init pa dyud ni in the comings weeks. Aghhhhhh. My newsfeed is peppered with similar sentiments, yours too? 🙂
I have been following weather reports lately, found it fascinating learning how hot it’s going to be in the coming days, it’s my cue to say with exasperation and haggard expression “grabe ka init! di matabang!!!”
Lol.
Cebu and nearby provinces is looking at average temperatures of 33 to 34 degrees Celcius this May, says PAGASA. Manila environs hit 36 degC two days ago with an even higher ‘real feel’. Waaaaaaa.
The crazy summer heat and bipolar weather led me to a spur of the moment decision last March. I had my almost waist-long hair cut real short. At that time, it was either an impromptu hair cut or spontaneous combustion =) But now, more than a month since then with my hair still not reaching shoulder level, I am wondering if it was more of a mistake especially the shortie short hair did little to make me feel cooler with this intense, El-Nino like summer! I swear walay pagsudlan sa kainit lately!
How about where you are at? Is it the same stuffy, humid, HOT days?
If it is, what extraordinaire measures are you doing to beat the crazy heat?
Here’s halo – halo for you! ^_^
Summer is Love, Exploration and Joy!
Summer is a beloved season by many despite of the heat and rising temperatures. It’s a love/hate thing 🙂 Side by side with weather complaints are pictures of azure beaches, shots of friends discovering new tourist spots, waterfalling adventures, foam party, summer escapes! Ohhhhh the possibilities that summer bring!
I have tried to look up official statistics for Top summer destinations in the Philippines from the Department of Tourism, unfortunately I can’t find info or this info does not exist. How would DOT select top destinations? What would be the criteria? The summer list maybe absent but DOT highly recommends the following destinations in the country any time of the year:
**This list is on the Department of Tourism website so most likely they followed a grading and evaluation system, an official criteria in the choosing of these places, otherwise the many other amazing destinations in the Philippines will revolt. You gotta admit, there are so many places in the country that deserves to be on any ‘top list’.
- Banaue for the rice terraces and the highlands’ cold weather
- Bohol for Chocolate Hills’ geological wonder
- Boracay for the amazing beach and white sand
- Cebu for the outstanding tropical isles and island experience
- Davao for nature and cultural diversity
- Manila for being the ‘heart and soul’of the country
- Palawan for being the Philippines last frontier
- Vigan for it’s old world charm
You can check out the official DOT website to see this PH top destinations list so you’ll also read the Tourism Department’s explanation why these tourist spots are selected and recommended. Let me just say am not surprise that Cebu is on the list, proud Bisdak =)
But if I can have a wish now it will be to hop on to some teleportation machine or the Floo Network and travel in a snap to Sagada or to Baguio or to Valencia or to Banaue right this minute. Those places are oasis in this searing heat and my kind of summer destinations.
I have not had an official summer trip for 2014 yet, but soon. =)
from last year’s summer trip to Kawasan ^_^
It’s the peak of summer, where have you been? Where are you going?
Wherever that maybe, have a great weekend, and a fabulous, refreshing summer adventure(s)! ^_^
