After the documentary entitled Inside Malacanang, National Geographic Channel will again feature the Philippines on a new show that will hit our tv screens this April 2012 and the show’s title is Islands Insider. This series will highlight a few of the best Philippine Travel Destinations. This special semi – documentary program is hosted by a Filipina as seen on the teaser video from The Extra Mile Production below. If you like checking out the Philippines top tourist spots from another person’s perspective, watch out for this show from Nat Geo. Also get ideas on the next tourist spot that you can include in your itinerary the next time you have a getaway.
Islands Insider will take a look at some of the top travel destinations in the Philippines and attempts to give a deeper perspective of each places by offering us answers to the questions ‘what’, ‘why’, ‘who’ and ‘how’ about a famous heritage site or tourism destination. It will also tackle issues and challenges presently face by our heritage destinations so we will be aware of them and can hopefully take action to protect and preserve these places. We need these kinds of shows to forge a better appreciation for all the natural and cultural wonders that our country offers to the world.
I’m pretty sure this is going to be an interesting show, I’ll be marking my calendars to watch Nat Geo’s Islands Insider this April 2012 😀 I will update this post when I know the show schedule or its time slot.
This is a tv series from National Geographic hence we will get to enjoy not only 1 show but several that will highlight the current state of famous places like “Batad” for our Banaue Rice Terraces, Paoay Church in Ilocos, and also popular activities like white water rafting, scuba diving, conquering the Ilocos sand dunes and more! For travel enthusiasts islands Insider is a must see!

Hopefully with this Nat Geo show, Islands Insider will help us appreciate our heritage more. Appreciation that will lead us to care for these places so the generations that will come after us will continue to marvel and protect our natural and cultural wonders.
