Millions of Filipinos are probably watching right now on television or online streaming or listening to radio broadcasts of the culmination of the impeachment trial of Justice Corona. My whole family is watching including my Lolo and Lola. And we are waiting with abated breath of how the voting will turn out. We are counting down the votes as the senator judges declare their stands and their decisions.
1-0, 1-1, 2-1 , 3-1, 4-2, 5-2, 6-2, 7-2, 8-2, 9-2…watda!
We are following the trial closely especially on this historic day when the votes will be casts but just as Senator Bongbong Marcos took to the stand to explain his decision – Boom! Lightning strikes, and a few seconds later, electricity was cut off.
Oh no! Brownout! Namaaaaaan!
Good thing that we have alternative access hehehe
Just look at us relying on a small mobile phone with FM =) even our dog Kulas is aptly listening to the Chief Justice on Trial. You can’t see my mom, dad, brother, sister and me on the pic but yep we were there listening as well to our small radio.

Whether you are masa, or middle class or among the wealthy few, whether you care about the impeachment or not at all, the decision on the Chief Justice Corona’s trial will affect you, might not be directly but it will affect all Filipinos, today and the generations to come.
** I’ll be posting this short post on Penfires when our internet connection is back. I’m writing until my laptop battery is dead or electricity is back.
Only needs 16 to convict, 8 to acquit.
Final vote has been counted.
20 Philippine Senators voted Guilty, 3 Senators voted Not Guilty.
Supreme Court Chief Justice Renato Corona is impeached and removed from office.
This trial of the highest magistrate of the land is momentous. Years from now, future Filipinos will be looking at this trial dissecting each decision, assessing how our honorable senator judges of the Republic of the Philippines arrived at their votes. They alone will fully know if the impeachment decision is right as they will fully experience the good or bad effects of this impeachment decision on our country.
This is a new dawn for the country, a new dawn for Filipinos. Hope this trial and the final decision will strengthen our democracy and pave way for the progress of our country.
Might not happen right away, but I hope, we hope.
Godbless the Philippines.

I was neither a PRO or ANTI Corona, for me, I just want to see this case decided. There are lots of cases they have to settle, GMA and Ampatuans for example.
