Early morning today October 22 Titus and I left Mactan for Ayala Center hoping to be among the first 100 customers of Krispy Kreme 1st Cebu branch.
I wanted to be among the first customer as I was there when KK opens its first store in the Philippines in Global City, Bonifacio High Street, Taguig and I want to win a golden ticket this time.
We got there a little past 8am, and this greeted us hehehe:
Krispy Kreme Ayala Center Cebu Branch Opening
The picture only shows a small portion of the crowd waiting on the Ayala Center’s ground, there are hundreds more on the other side, and take note this is two hours before the mall opens. Needless to say my dream of the golden ticket evaporated in a flash lol.
There were people who lined up the night before! I think its crazy but well their craziness got them months supply of free original glazed doughnuts from Krispy Kreme so keber hehe
This afternoon Krispy Kreme will open its second branch in Cebu and it is located in Cebu Asiatown IT Park complex, nope, we won’t be there because there is no contest haha.
New store openings especially big foreign brands like Krispy Kreme are dinadayo talaga ng Cebuanos, part hype and part to check if the store is worth a second visit. So for the first few weeks this store is going to be packed to the hilt best to avoid if you can wait hehe.
Anyway, to make use of our time and so we don’t feel so sorry for missing the line and yes the free doughnuts, we decided to go on a Cebu Heritage Walk Tour.
We took a jeepney to Colon and took pics of the Colon street marker obelisk, and a few meters from it are two more historical sites the Cebu Heritage of Cebu Monument and the San Diego-Yap Ancestral House and Museum. And then we walked about 10 minutes and reached the Cebu Cathedral.
Unfortunately, I forgot to charge the battery of spunky lol so we have no choice but to cut the tour and take it on some other time.
I will be posting later a comprehensive site to site guide on how to have a cheap Cebu Heritage Walk Tour, please watch out for that.
