IsoldT is my first laptop bought 5 years ago and mannn it was a great ride with her! She was my assistant as I started Penfires and she was also the one I highly depended on when I shifted to online freelance work.
*Her name was IsoldT for “I sold Tristan”. She’s one of those stuff I bought from the proceeds of selling Tristan, my old car issued to me at work.
She is a NEO laptop – very sturdy and fast, the lcd is not so good though, a bit pale screen, not sharp when it comes to pics and videos, but overall this is one awesome laptop. I highly recommend NEO laptop! The reason why I am not getting a NEO laptop this time around is because I want to try another brand with High Definition LCD. I plan on learning Photoshop this year so I can finally change Penfires’ logo and I thought I better get a sharp lcd so I’d be inspired more hehehe
Back on my laptop, she have really been put to good used, abused and battered some would say. Imagine her being used for like 15 hours straight almost daily in the last 9 months or more. Sorry IsoldT!
Its been years since I can’t bring her everywhere as her laptop battery died down a long time ago. I have to plug her to an electric outlet so she’ll power on. Lately, poor IsoldT suffered from all forms of breakdown from broken hinges to broken cable wire to keyboard letters that got stuck and other similar bumps. No wonder she’s starting to become very temperamental that I am left with no choice but to start saving for her replacement.
Awesome Laptop IsoldT battered but fighting!
*The lcd dims every few minutes and turns off when accidentally moved due to the broken cable wire. It was a real struggle using my old laptop.
It looks so bad but hey! laptop still works heheheh
When the left hinge was broken my father have to build a special laptop housing for IsoldT otherwise the lcd will fall flat on the table. Yahhh I know poor, poor laptop. 🙂
IsoldT and The Special Laptop Case/ Shelf
I was projecting to be able to save enough to buy a laptop with real good specs by April, this month. Laptop is essential to me especially now that I am into freelance online work. Internet and Computers like laptop are a frreelancer’s must have tools.
Working from home and remotely is my bread and butter, my main source of income. At this point in time I can’t survive without a laptop in my life unless of course I go back to corporate work, which (currently) I am not planning to. I love waking up late and the fact that within just 15 minutes from getting off my bed, I am ready to face and start a new working day hehehehe
So there I was mulling that IsoldT is about to give up at any given time so I must buy the soonest I can. But the prob was I still didn’t have enough funds to buy a real good laptop. But you know that God Always Provide right? I’ve always believe that. And like a manna from heaven I got a message from my employer/client with subject title “A Bonus and a Raise”. 🙂 Awesome!!!
Bonuses and raises never fail to bring a huge grin on my face, I’m sure yours too di ba? Hehehhe
Anyway, for working my butt seriously for what turned out to be a great and record breaking product launch in Warrior Forum, I got not only a cash bonus but also a new laptop! YESSSSS! Problem solved! I can now replaced IsoldT!
Welcome Muncher!
Yey! I got a new laptop last weekend and his name is Muncher =). If you are familiar with the Warrior Forum and the top WSO sellers you would probably figure out by now who my client/employer is hehehe.
I must have devoted a couple of weeks before I finally decided on what laptop to buy. I am very nitpicky when it comes to specs, I have read through tens of computer store leaflets and promo materials as well as have gone through extensive researched online – all for one laptop. Oc-oc talaga ako hehehhe. So anyhow I got a Dell Laptop, iCore3, with videocard. =)
Here’s me hoping that Muncher will be a friend for a long time!
Cheers Muncher! Don’t let IsoldT down!
p.s. It’s not the end of road yet for my old laptop, she still works and is being use until the last boot of her bios.
GOOD JOB ISOLDT!!!

I have an ASUS EEE-PC 1150 something that I bought more than 3 years ago. I’ve been using it for my online jobs for almost 2 years now… It’s kinda battered na rin but I don’t have any plans of letting her go pa… Battery pa lang ang sira.. Btw, her name (yup, it’s a girl!) is EEE-KY 😛

Vince says
My first car, it was a 1993 ford crown victoria. I didn’t name it but I often called it “piece of s***” it cost $500, the exaust system was completely rusted off (it was LOUD) I was constantly doing burnouts, seeing as it was an automatic transmission that should have killed it. I drove it for two years before I even checked the oil, there was no oil on the dipstick. That car should have died, I finally got rid of it after somebody smashed out the windshield and didn’t feel like spending money on that beat up car. So I bought another car, $2100 this time. I had it for a week and the engine lit on fire.
I didn’t realize it until it was gone but I loved that first car.
Cille Anne says
@vince, wow that was tough luck on the second car!
and it’s often the case, we only realize the full value of things when we lost them and that’s when we cherish them more.
hope you have a good one now. hmmm.. maybe you should name your car? your car might like it more hehe almost all people I know with cars name their vehicles. I am not sure if its a cultural thing though =)
Vince says
I have a reliable car now, thankfully. Although the string of disastrous car purchases continued after the second one. lol
Some people name their cars here, especially vintage cars. Maybe I should name mine though, couldn’t hurt. It’s blue, so I could call it “Blue.” But only so I could say “You’re my boy Blue!”
100 points if you get that reference. lol
