We were already seated in Tim Ho Wan and was ticking out what to order from the menu, when the hubby mentioned, in passing, that ‘o, may freebie pala dito pag Gcash ginamit pambayad.’
*ting! ting! ting*
My ears picked-up the word freebie and of course, we just have to use Gcash to pay for the meal. I Love freebies! Lol.
Now, the problem is I don’t have funds on my Gcash, Titus’ own is also depleted. My brain already latched-on the freebie, gotta have it, it says.
Took out my hubby’s phone, accessed his Gcash app, and scrolled through the possible ways of cashing-in funds. I tried connecting his BDO credit card to his Gcash account, no go, there was an error. I next tried transferring funds via Paypal, was not successful too.
Okay, so those attempts didn’t work. I’ll try my own Gcash account. Pressured na ang ate niyo, kasi ba naman nagsabi na sa staff na we will pay via Gcash and will avail the free Mango Sago dessert. 😀

I then tried connecting my BPI credit card to the Gcash account, “sorry, your card enrollment cannot be processed”. Waaaa, this can’t be! we must pay via Gcash! Lol.
I looked again at the cash-in options, the surest thing would be to cash-in at SM Department’s store but that would be lame, too inconvenient, OA na. Lol.
The food started coming in, Titus was already admonishing me na lalamig na ang food. My sister started digging into the glutinous rice and telling me to start eating too. But nahhh, the mind was still whirling, then tadang! I realized I have a Unionbank online access and can transfer funds using the Unionbank app to the Gcash app on my phone.
Yeyyy for banking on the go! EON didn’t fail me! 🙂
I was grinning ear to ear when I got the txt confirmation that my cash-in was successful. Hahaha. We can pay using Gcash! We will get the freebie by using the QR code.

GCash scan to pay promo duration says it’s until August 31, 2018 but I think this has been extended since we got the freebie last September 11. If you dine, ask the restaurant staff first about the Gcash promo.
