I don’t usually write about foods simply because my tastebuds prefers the tried and test
ed and ‘normal/ boring ones’. And I feel Idon’t have much to say or share. Exotic foods like those serve in Laguna’s Exotic Restaurant are great for blog entries but err you can never make me eat exotic foods!. Yes I did once because it was to be my ‘initiation’ to my previous work and my colleagues were egging me to try it or else.
The ‘or else’ made me pause, naive that i was then i thought i really had to, so I ate fried frog, wild boar and bayawak all the while trying not to cry hahahha but never again 🙂 Neither do I eat Cebu’s famous kinilaw and Japanese raw foods which most people I know claim as their favorite. And no balot please. Nope sir, not for me.
And I don’t know how to cook complete meals – i can boil water, fried danggit and pusit, cook that instant noodle, you know the very simple and easy ones. In our house I am not task to cook. Usually when the food on our table doesn’t appeal to my sister and brother, they take out the pan and cook something that they like. When I am face with the same situation, what I normally do is to sit down and eat what is on the table. So much for initiative! heheh
I was on solo living in Laguna for a bit of time and carenderia foods, fast foods and canned goods were my good, good friends. Yes, I am that boring when it comes to foods, well, except if we are talking about chocolates haha.
I guess those are some of the factors why food hasn’t made a bold mark on Penfires. My good friend Chie of AngBitLogNiChie has suggested that I try writing about food sometime, and it made me think. Food is a huge part of everyone’s life and whose travel is complete without savoring the local cuisine and delicacies, right?
Food trips and discovering new food jaunts is something I look forward to during travels and yes, I’ve discovered many new favorite dish this way.
I guess you know what will happen next…:)
