The New Year also unveils the new tourism slogan and campaign set by the DOT or the Philippine’s Department of Tourism this 2012. It encourages every Filipino to take part in promoting the Philippines to the world as well as answer the most important basic question of potential travelers and visitors …”Why go to the Philippines?”
The new tourism slogan replaces the short-lived “Pilipinas Kay Ganda” and the more popular tag line “Wow Philippines”. Tourism Secretary Ramon Jimenez Jr and the country’s Department of Tourism will officially launch the new campaign and slogan to encourage more foreign visitors and Pinoy balikbayans to come over to discover the wonderful 7101 islands that we have real soon.
Promoting the Philippines is not only the job of the tourism secretary and the tourism department. This is something that we Filipinos should take a part of – whether you are here in the country or outside the Philippines. Travel and visit our islands and get to be ambassadors too and entice fellow Pinoys to take to the road and reach the far-flung places in our nation. With the promo fare launches of the airlines serving our country, the cost of traveling has been significantly lowered allowing more and more Filipinos to not only see the top tourist spots of the country in textbooks, magazines and the internet but to see them with our own two eyes!
Yes we can travel on a shoestring budget and still have an awesome vacation! It only takes will and careful planning. Read Philippine based travel blogs to have an idea for your next getaway and holiday. Choose to explore Luzon, Visayas, Mindanao! Now is really a good time since there are lots of long holidays this 2012 – sweet!
We are a very friendly nation with kind and warm citizens and hindi matatawarang ganda ng kalikasan and adventure places that everyone can check out. We have all these and more. Spread the word about how wonderful it is to visit the Philippines. Encourage all your friends to visit our many islands!
Proud Filipina. Proud Pinoy! Mabuhay Pilipinas!

Anything that has the slightest nature of a copy cut
for a national slogan can circumvent the drive. It happened to “Pilipinas Kay Ganda”.
If only they could build on “Wow Philippines”…
