“Na charge na ako ng annual fee”, sambit ko sa sarili ko. And automatic, I know I will call the hotline to try to have the fee waived. Last year, nag auto-waived ang BPI without any condition when I called. But when I chatted with the customer service rep today, I must meet one of 5 conditions or options for the BPI Amore credit card annual fee waiver.
Sayang din yung P2,050 na annual fee for my BPI Amore, kaya need itry tawag talaga.
‘Uy, mabilis lang naka-connect sa csr, wala pang 15 minutes!’ 😊 Dati rati, it will take close to an hour, sometimes lagpas pa, grabe, kaya happy to note na a whole lot faster na ngayon to connect to the hotline. I called this number pala, in case you want to call BPI too- 02 889 10000. You can also reach out to them using the bank’s toll-free number at 1 800 188 89100.
5 Options To Waive BPI Credit Card Annual Fee – Amore
My credit card is the BPI Amore cashback card and the annual fee is P2,050.
Here are the options given to me:
First, I could convert the P2,050 annual fee on my BPI Amore into 12 equal monthly installment with no interest. So that’ll be P170.83 per month charge for 12 months.
Second, Meeting the spending requirement of P50,000 within 3 months. Any amount will be counted, single or accumulated.
Third, Apply for an S.I.P. Loan with 12 months tenure and at 1% interest per month. Loan amount is minimum of P20,000.
Fourth, Apply for a supplementary card. I asked who is allowed to become my supplementary? The csr said anyone I want, but it’s still subject to approval.
Fifth, Avail the 50% off on the annual fee. So instead of P2,050, I will pay P1,025, but this will be charged on the card in one go. They will reversed the original fee of P2,050, then charge the P1,025.
I shared with the csr that by September I will be having a PET Scan, as part of my breast cancer monitoring. And I project that I will be able to hit the P50K spending requirement if I need to use the credit card for my upcoming procedure. I pray na sana makahanap ako ng paraan na di kailangang ipangutang sa credit card ang medical procedure ko. Sana.
I asked the csr if it is okay if I will just call BPI again come September to request for the annual fee waiver. She said yes and that calling is really needed since they have to document the request on their end, before you start trying to meet any of the waiver conditions.
Different credit cards, different annual fee, but I think the options will be more or less the same except for the spending requirement or the SIP minimum amount that must be availed. Like higher-tier cards will require higher spend, and could be bigger loan amount?
Anyhow, if nagpapa-waive ka din ng annual fee mo sa BPI, make sure to ask for the reference number of your request. Para, in case lang na may issue, you have something to rely on as proof of your request.
Finally, since nasa July 2025 SOA ko na ang annual fee, bayaran ko muna yun, then ipareverse nalang in the next few months, pag alam ko na ma meet ko for sure any of the waiver conditions.
Yun lang for now.
Cheers to life!
