Bohol Island is one of the premier island destinations in the Philippines that draw in thousands of tourists and visitors. Good thing that you can choose to fly from Manila directly to Bohol or fly to Cebu and take the fast craft to Bohol and spend only two hours of sea travel. Once there you can contact many travel tour operators and pay only an average of 60 dollars for a one day Bohol countryside tour covering the usual tourist favorites and then spend the other days lounging in a tropical haven, get a tan, get pampered with a spa and enjoy the ultimate vacation.
Panglao Island in Bohol is one of the most popular beach areas in the Philippines, with Dumaluan and Alona as the most frequented beach strips in the island because of their white sand beaches. From Tagbilaran City, Panglao is a short 21 kms ride. There are buses that go to Panglao from Tagbilaran but they are usually an hour apart. The easiest way to go to Panglao would be by private vehicle but it’s more expensive. Hotels, pension houses and inns are scattered all over Alona, search for the best one that fits your budget. This is my last blog entry for our Bohol chronicle
Bohol is synonymous to Chocolate Hills. Elementary students learned early on about the major Philippines tourist attractions that the country offers during history classes, and i think no kid will forget about Bohol Chocolate Hills simply because any phrase with ‘chocolate’ in it is bound to be remembered. Or at least that’s my opinion hehhehe.
The Chocolate Hills of Bohol are such a unique geological occurrence that Filipinos or even foreigners familiar with world wonders will definitely recognized these 1,200++ majestic hills dotting the town of Carmen in Bohol for what they are – the famous Chocolate Hills. They are perfectly formed cone-shaped hills and similar in sizes. These hills are lush green during rainy season that turns brown when summer starts. During summer these natural wonders resembles that of yummy chocolates, that’s how the name ‘chocolate hills’ evolved.
Most of Bohol tour operators will bring tourists to the Loboc Center in time for the Loboc River Cruise with Buffet Lunch. The fee for this buffet lunch is NOT INCLUDED in most tour packages so you have to shell out another P400 per person to enjoy the cruise along the Loboc River as well as the lunch buffet. Estimated travel time to complete the Loboc river cruise is around 2 hours. You don’t need to worry about your driver’s lunch because he will be given free lunch at the center while he waits up for you.
We arrived early in Pier One,Cebu, very excited to finally kick-start our summer adventure trip. We will be travelling from Cebu to Bohol for 2 hours via Oceanjet fastcraft, our port of destination is Tagbilaran City. Me and my sister were extra-excited because we are picture freaks and Bohol with its many scenic spots can be great backgrounds for our pictures LOL. Our pictorial started early on even before boarding the vessel.
Unfortunately, there was a minor hitch, Kenneth found out that I left all the chargers for our cameras hahaha I mean it was just an overnight trip to Bohol
